Getting the most out of your Compendium this year means picking the right heroes. For those who don’t know, the Compendium is a yearly Dota 2 item that grants players a ton of items that you can only get through it, like heroes, stickers, loading screens, sprays, chat wheels and armory items. It also lets you customize your profile with a bunch of things, including the ability to add a unique banner to your hero.
Among the items included in the successful compendium picks are the Oracle’s Challenge, which are challenges that require Compendium owners to predict what they think might happen during The International. Every time you get a prediction correct, you’ll earn Compendium points. These predictions can range from who will be the winner of a particular match to what the tournament bracket will look like after the group stages. It’s worth noting that perfect predictions are nearly impossible, but there’s still a chance to win some big prizes by winning the Oracle’s Challenge.
With The International 2023’s introduction of bingo, there are some new ways for Compendium owners to try and get those rewards this year. Each weekend of the event, Compendium owners will receive a random bingo card that has different challenges on it that could potentially occur during the tournament. Completing each of these cards will earn you rewards, like the Oracle’s Challenge and the Hero with the Highest Assist Average.
This year, the minimum number of games played to qualify for the hero with the lowest death average is five games. That opens up the door for some of those pocket picks that might be able to snag this prize, like Slark. The hero with the highest XPM average is another one that might be easy to pick if the game goes long enough. That could include a hero like SumaiL, who loves to snowball and can easily rack up over 1,000 XPM.
As for hero with the highest kill average, that might not be as easy to pick as some of the other categories. There are several heroes that might be able to clinch this, but the one that comes to mind is OG’s Miracle. He has a ton of options that enemies will dread seeing him pick, especially with Timbersaw on his side.
And for hero with the highest game length average, that might come down to the team that is able to play the most different kinds of heroes. A good candidate is Cloud9, whose roster features many heroes that enemies will be afraid to pick against.
